UVSC McKay Events Center

Brief Description of Project

This 230,000 square foot, $17,000,000 facility has men's and women's locker rooms, a small laundry, weight lifting area, dance suite, racquetball courts, classrooms, offices and a special events center with sectioned basketball practice courts. The mechanical systems are varied. The locker room utilizes an air to air heat recovery system and single zone air handling units serve the dance area. Variable air volume systems serve the weight lifting rooms, classrooms and offices. The Special Events Center is served by four 40,000 cfm air handling units. The arena also has a life safely smoke exhaust system. CO2 sensors monitor return air to allow for reduced amounts of outside air. The mechanical and plumbing systems are tied into the existing central plant.
